Lou Ella (Eckert) Putman, formerly of Ballinger, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 in Dallas at the age of 98.

She was born December 2, 1911 in Concho County, Texas to Dan Henry and Effie Lou (Rampy) Eckert. She and Joseph C. Putman were married December 16, 1933 in Fredrick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in February of 1971. She was a devoted, loving homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church of Miles. Lou loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a huge fan and collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, Earl, Frank, and Marie.

Lou is survived by her son, Jimmy Putman and wife, Kay, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, her daughter, Jody Adami of Dallas, and a brother, Victor Eckert of San Angelo. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeven Adami and wife, Catherine, (children, Francesca and Andrew), Jaci Varnell and husband, Lynn, (children, Aiden, Cailey, and Everett), Allee Whitt and husband, Drew, Chelcey Adami, and Zak Adami, Cindy Tibbs and husband, Marc (children, Madison and Bailey); step-grandchildren, Renee Carter (children, Shawn and Brooke), Mark Walls and wife, Tammy, (children, Benjamin and Samuel), and Melissa LaDue and husband, Mike (children, Michelle and Cameron).

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Miles Cemetery in Miles, Texas.
