Richard Clyde Banfield, Sr., 75, of Orient, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home.
He was born August 18, 1934 in Hamilton, Ohio to Bert and Edith (Conway) Banfield.
He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War and had been a past member of the American Legion. He was employed by a wholesale paper distributor, and in 1971 he married Erma Lucille Flippin. He was a member of Tennyson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Anna Mae Mannion.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lucille Flippin Banfield of the home, and children, Barbara Banfield of Irvine, CA, Richard C. Banfield, Jr. of Orient, and Jerry H. Smith of Ballinger; and a brother, Oliver “Bud” Banfield of Ft. Collins, CO.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Burial will follow in Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery.
