Eddie (Barber) Brown, age 70, of Ballinger died Friday evening, July 2, 2010 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on July 18, 1939 in Coleman to Ralph and Lois Marie (Wiegreffe) Brown. He graduated from Talpa High School and attended Tarelton College for a year before going to Barber College. He owned Brown’s Barber in Ballinger and had been operating there since 1964.

Eddie married Billie Selby on February 7, 1959 in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to go to the beach with his family. He enjoyed collecting and making arrow heads. He loved his family and had a special love for his grandkids and great grandkids

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Randall in 1972, Kent in 1997, and Larry in 1975.

Survivors include his wife, Billie of Ballinger; children, Debra Rinn, and Bill Brown and his wife Gena all of Ballinger: his seven grandchildren, Courtney Harrison and husband, Matt, Robbye Bryan, Cole Rinn, William (Wes) Brown, Dylan Brown and wife, Kristen, Audrey Brown and Laura Brown; and his two great grandchildren, Emma and Zac Harrison. A sister, Sybil Dodson and her husband Dr. Dwain Dodson; 3 nephews, Kelly and Max Sanderford, Tommy Selby Jr,; and a niece Heather Tiller also survive.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, July 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 6 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Chamness and Rev. Buddy Moore officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Talpa cemetery.
