L. V. Johnson

L. V. Johnson, 84, of Ballinger died August 3, 2010 at the Coleman Heath Care Center in Coleman, Texas.

He was born in Winters on January 12, 1926 to parents, Dink and Betsy Johnson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.

He married Ruby Belk of Winters in 1947. They moved to Ballinger in 1957. Their marriage produced eight children, six of whom are deceased, Phillip, Bobby, Larry, Paul and two who were stillborn.

L. V. was a faithful member of Jesus Christ Church and was a veteran of World War II.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ruby of 63 years; son, Charles Johnson and wife, Onnie Mae of Ballinger; daughter, RosaLee Smith and husband, Kenneth of Grand Prairie. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a large host of nieces, nephews, friends, and associates. Rest assured that we all loved him, but God loved him more.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Jesus Christ Church in Ballinger with burial in Ballinger Evergreen-West Cemetery.
