Esther Simecek

Esther Simecek, 90, of Rowena passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 20, 1920 in Rowena to John and Mary (Rafaj) Simecek and was the last surviving of their children. She was a homemaker and a past member of Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers, Saide Mikeska, Adeline Holliday, Sible Simmons, Martha, Alvin and Marvin Simecek.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Dorothy Brenek, Ruth Mikeska, Dennis Simecek, Debbit Harton, Rogeer Simecek, Vance Holliday, Barbara Holliday, Larry Holliday, Bently Craig, Renee Simmons, and Melinda Waldroop. Also surviving are cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and special friends, Marcel and Annie Lois Kalina and family.

The family extends special thanks to Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation and the staff of Vista Care Hospice.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rowena Protestant Cemetery in Rowena.
