Mary Moeller

Mary Moeller, age 101, of Rowena passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born December 8, 1908 in Rowena to Emil and Mary (Schwertner) Ullrich and was a long-time resident of the area. She and Felix Moeller were married October 30, 1928 in Rowena. He preceded her in death August 12, 1972. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena and St. Ann Altar Society. She especially enjoyed gardening and quilting and was very skilled at both activities. Each of her seven godchildren received one of her beautiful quilts.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Emma Schniers, Frieda Kohrmann, Walter Ullrich, and Frank Ullrich.

Mary is survived by sisters, Helen Ullrich of Rowena and Florene Schmid of Brenham; sister-in-law, Ruby Ullrich of Miles; brother-in-law, Roman Multer of Rowena; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Ariel Lagunilla, Msgr. Benedict Zientek, and Rev. Hugh Wade co-celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Ullrich, Joe Schniers, Pat Schmid, Fred Wilde, John Multer, and Maynard Schwertner.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and nurses at Vista Care and at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
