Corinna Catherine Nicole Thurmond, 14, of Ballinger passed away early Saturday morning September 18, 2010 at her home.
She was born August 18, 1996 in San Angelo to James and Tracy (Rowland) Thurmond. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Ballinger and a student at Olfen School where she was an honorary cheerleader. She was also a member of Olfen Girl Scouts.
Corinna is survived by her parents, James and Tracy (Rowland) Thurmond; brothers, James Thurmond, Jr. and Bradley Thurmond; grandparents, William and Wanda Thurmond all of Ballinger; and great- grandmothers, Roberta Headlee of New Mexico and Veda McKay of Alabama. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a visitation time for friends and family on Tuesday, September 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22 at the First Christian Church in Ballinger with Lynn Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Runnels Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dwayne Schaefer and 8th Grade Olfen Mustang Football players, Richard, Andrew, Logan, Fabion, and Julian. Honorary pallbearers will be the remainder of the Mustang football players, the Olfen Mustang Cheerleaders, and the students of Olfen School.
Corinna’s family extends special thanks to the doctors, her fellow students, and everyone whose life she touched.
