Doyle Felton Keesee

Doyle Felton Keesee, 84, of Ballinger passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 9, 1926 in Ballinger to Clarence and Jessie (Roach) Keesee. Doyle and Juanita Bradshaw were married October 29, 1949 in Paint Rock. He was a faithful, active member of the First Church of God in Ballinger, serving on the board and as church treasurer. For most of his life, over 40 years, he was a concrete contractor, but he was also known in the community as "the minnow man.” His love of fishing included selling minnows at his home for many years. He was also a devoted Bearcat and Dallas Cowboy fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd, Frank, and Bob; and sisters, Betty Ann Poindexter and Cathleen Gray.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Juanita Keesee of Ballinger; sons, David Keesee and wife, Nelda, Marty Keesee and wife, Sam, Bobby Jack and Aaron Keesee and wife, Julie, all of Ballinger, Alvin Keesee and wife, Christa, of Lubbock; daughters, Brenda Merrifield and husband, Gerald, of Breckenridge, Shirley Bilbrey of Bronte; and a sister, Cordilia Hilliard of Amarillo. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, November 25 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, November 26 at 2:00 pm at the First Church of God in Ballinger with Myron Halford officiating. Burial will follow in Old Runnels Cemetery.
