Alex Rodriguez

Alex Sauceda Rodriguez, 76, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

He was born on Thursday, June 14, 1945, to Matias and Juliana (Sauceda) Rodriguez in Ballinger, Texas.  On June 15, 1974, he married the love of his life, Delphine Rodriguez Escobar, and together they shared over 40 beautiful years until her passing in 2018. After his retirement from Dry Manufacturing as a welder, he went on to enjoy hunting and fishing, watching his Dallas Cowboys, and going to all of the Bearcat Games.  He loved his dog “Spencer” and his grand-dogs too.  He loved tinkering in his garage and could repair just about anything.  He was the one that family and friends would call on when they needed repairs.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents Matias and Juliana Rodriguez, his wife Delphine, his sisters Hortencia Rodriguez and Martha Esquivel, his mother-in-law Isabel Rodriguez, sister-in-law Martha Zertuche, and brother-in-law’s Rudy Martinez, Billy Majalca, and Henry Patino.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy Southard and husband Gary of Abilene, his sisters Delia Martinez of Ballinger, Eva Gonzales and husband Frank of Ballinger, and Frances Rodriguez of Ballinger.  Alex is also survived by his brothers Fermin (Karen) Rodriguez of McKinney, Johnny Rodriguez of Denton, and Albert (Sandy) Rodriguez and his sisters-in-law Mary Martinez of Pearland, Frances Patino of Ballinger, and Jo (Roderick) James of Houston.

A rosary will be held for Alex on Friday, February 11 ^th , 2022, at 7:00 pm at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home.  His memorial service will follow on Saturday, February 12 ^th , 2022 at 2:00 pm also at Lange Funeral Home with Deacon Claudio officiating.  Interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association in Alex’s name.
