Alice Marie (Kalina) Gleich, 89, of Rowena passed away Friday, June 12, 2020.
She was born Monday, September 12, 1931, to Matthew and Mary Kalina in Praha, Texas. Alice married her sweetheart, Stanley Gleich, on April 17, 1952, in Rowena, and together they shared 69 beautiful years together. Alice worked for the Runnels County Clerk and Tax offices and was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Alice is preceded in death by her brothers, Benny Kalina, Harry Kalina, and Sidney Kalina.
She is survived by her husband Stanley; brother, Marcel Kalina and wife Annie Lois; and sisters, Valeria Hoelscher and husband LeRoy, and Germaine Hoelscher. Alice is also survived by her sister-in-law’s Betsy, Betty, and Clara Kalina as well as by many nieces and nephews who love her dearly. She is also survived by her many God-Children whom together her and Stanley sponsored over many years.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Her mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day Monday, June 15 at 10:00 am with Father Ariel Lagunilla presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Divine Providence in San Antonio (515 SW 24th St. San Antonio, Texas 78207). The family would like to thank Central Texas Nursing and their staff for their love and care of Alice.
