Annabelle Eva Matschek

July 23, 1934 — July 5, 2024

Annabelle Eva Kleypas Matschek has made her last and finest journey to her eternal resting place. She was born on July 23, 1934, in Olfen, Texas to Erwin Bernard Kleypas and Helen Kasberg Kleypas. She passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at the age of 89.

Annabelle was blessed with many of God's followers in her life; Victor Bernard Matschek, her devoted husband of 69 years, who survives her; her son, Ronald Dale Matschek, who proceeded her in death on June 13, 2007, and her surviving children Gynell Oppermann (Arthur) of Muenster, Karen Matschek-Baker (Jim) of Leander, Terry Matschek (Kelly) of Abilene, and Glenn Matschek (Erique) of San Angelo. Annabelle (Grandma Chek) leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by an abundance of other beloved family members and friends too numerous to name.

Annabelle's true joy in life (second only to her unwavering faith) was enjoying her family and friends. She demonstrated her love and devotion in a multitude of ways throughout the years; a thoughtful card, a home cooked meal, a genuine hug or her endearing smile. On special occasions, Annabelle was always ready with her infamous baked pies or numerous desserts and her bright and cheerful personality. She was always willing to lend a helping hand or serve as caregiver for many fortunate people to be graced by her life. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome wherever she happened to be.

Aside from spending time with family and friends she loved cooking - no one left Annabelle's house hungry. She  enjoyed traveling to see family and friends and hosting holiday gatherings in her home.

The family welcomes everyone to join with them in celebrating her life and her last journey with a Rosary Service and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas, at 10:30 AM on July 9, followed by graveside services at St. Joseph Cemetery. Viewing will be available Monday afternoon, July 8, at Lange Funeral Home, 1910 Hutchings Avenue, Ballinger, Texas.

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:17
