Anita S. Sanchez

Anita Salazar Sanchez, 92, of Winters, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab in Ballinger, Texas.

She was born on January 1, 1930, to Emiliano and Maria (Garza) Salazar in San Benito, Texas.  Anita was a member of the Catholic Church.  In Winters she married the love of her life, Jose Sanchez, and together they shared 60 years, before his passing on February 28, 2012.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents Emiliano and Maria Salazar, her husband Jose Sanchez, her sisters Maria Estella Reyna, Beatrice Villanueva, and Oralia Aleman, as well as her brother Ramon Salazar.

She is survived by her daughter Celeste Sanchez, sons Jesse Sanchez and wife Sabrina, Moses Sanchez and wife Carolina, Sammy Sanchez and wife Mary, Richard Sanchez, and Noe Sanchez and wife Juanita; grandchildren Celeste Sanchez, Rico Sanchez, Blanca Sanchez, Jesse Sanchez, Angel Sanchez, Raquel Flores, Alex Flores and wife Effie, Monica Flores, Lydia Sanchez, J.J. Sanchez, Ruben Sanchez, Ricardo Sanchez, Anita Roman, N. J. Sanchez, Savannah Martinez, Jessie Flores, and so many more.  Great-grandchildren include Xavier Alldredge, Erica Roman, Jessica Soto, Manuel Roman, Destiny Faith Cambelle, Celeste Flores, Alexis Flores, Xander Cavanaugh, Ja’Kobe, Layla, Justice, and so many more.  Also surviving are her sister Olivia Esquivel, and her brother George Torres.

A rosary will be held for Anita at the Chapel at Lange Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 6:30 pm.  Her funeral service will follow on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:30 am at Lange Funeral Home with Deacon Claudio Sanchez officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Anita’s honor or to a charity of choice.
