Antonio Martinez, Sr.

Antonio Martinez Sr, 58 of Ballinger, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

Antonio was born on January 24, 1962, to Pedro and Celestine (Nievez) Martinez in Guanajuato, Mexico.  He married the love of his life, Santa Perez in Mexico, and together they shared 25 beautiful years together.  He worked as an inspector for Lonestar Beef in San Angelo, Texas. Antonio loved many things, but dearest to him were his friends and family. He was also a member of the Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother Celestine, and his sister Margarita Martinez.

Antonio is survived by his wife Santa Martinez; his sons Antonio Martinez Jr and wife Savannah of Ballinger, and Adrian Martinez of Ballinger; his daughter Bianca Martinez of San Angelo; his brothers Arturo Martinez and wife Anna of Ballinger, Ciro Martinez and wife Michelle of Winters, Nicolas Martinez and wife Kimberly of Ballinger, Jose Martinez and wife Gloria of Dallas, Santiago Martinez and wife Chelo of Mexico; and sisters Hortencia Lopez and husband Jose of Abilene, Pancha Chavez and husband Jose of Grand Prarie, and Irene Martinez of Mexico.  He is also survived by his 4 grand-children.

A rosary will be held for Antonio on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 6:00 pm at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10:00 am on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Yesu Mulakaleti officiating.

COVID restrictions will be in place, and all in attendance for both the rosary and the mass will be required to wear proper face covering.
