Barry "Randy" Randall Jones, 78, of Winters, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
He was born on Friday, September 6, 1946, to Jarvis William and Annie Jean (Farmer) Jones in Ballinger, Texas. Randy married the love of his life, Linda Maas, in a ceremony in Coleman, Texas, on March 18, 1969. He served honorably in the United States Armed Services in the Marines and continued his service in the National Guard for over 17 years. Randy then continued to serve and protect through his service as a correctional officer. He was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw (papa). Randy also enjoyed fishing and hunting, but he especially loved woodworking and built many incredible things with his hands. From remodeling projects to handmade crosses, he found joy in creating. He was also a member of the Winter's Volunteer Fire Department.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents Jarvis William Jones (1981) and Annie Jean Jones (1999). Paternal grandparents Early and Della Jones. Maternal grandparents Fred and Gertrude Farmer. In-laws H.B. and Laverne Maas. Dean and Nancy Maas and Linda Maas. Son in law Kevin Vest.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Jones, and his children Ginny Vest of Stephenville, Jeremy and Michael Jones of Winters, Justin and Tassi Jones of Stephenville, and Suzanne Beverley of Abilene. Randy is also survived by his brother Jerry and Cindy and son Brian of Bossier City, LA. His grandchildren Tyler Vest of Ponder, Kylie Beverley of Abilene, Kezyln, Blaytin, Axtin and Bexlyn of Stephenville. Kaeden Beverley of Camp Lejuene, NC, Eric Beverley of San Antonio and Gavin Smith of Dayton, Ohio. Great grandchild Riggin Vest of Ponder. Brothers in law Gene and wife Serena Maas of Ballinger and Lee Maas of Rowena. Craig Beverley of Abilene, J.T. Davis of Abilene and Mearl Dally of Comanche.
A private family service will be held for Randy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's in Randy's honor.
