Belinda Catherine McAlister

Belinda (“The Painter Lady”) Catherine McAlister, 65, of Ballinger, Texas passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Belinda was born to Jimmie D. Ray and Mary Loyce Burks on April 23, 1959, in Fort Stockton, Texas, and spent her time making a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Belinda was very dedicated to her work, and while she touched the hearts of many people, she also touched the heart of Ballinger through her restoration of multiple businesses and homes. 

Belinda stood as a beacon of love and light to those around her. She is survived by her spouse, Bryan Cheshire, who adored her deeply. Her legacy lives on through her son, JR Epting and significant other Ella Sipes, her daughter Nicole Sanchez and spouse Nazarrio Luna, grandchildren Tasha Bilbrey and significant other Andrew Stanley, Izaiah Rodriguez, and Aiden Sanchez, along with her brother Jimmie D. Ray Jr. and sisters Tammy Drummond, Kimberley Ray, and Joann Pruitt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. 

Belinda's spunky attitude and witty humor will be sorely missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. 

Belinda was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Vicky Shawn Long. 

Belinda was known for her unwavering work ethic and generosity that knew no bounds. Her passion for life was an inspiration that will never be forgotten. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society on Belinda's behalf. 

The family wishes to thank the many medical professionals from Shannon Medical Center and the nurses and social workers from West Texas Hospice of San Angelo. Your efforts and care for Belinda did not go unnoticed, and will never be forgotten.
