Bobbie Campbell

Bobbie Marie (Eoff) Campbell, 92, of Ballinger, peacefully passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, surrounded by family.

Bobbie Marie was born on Tuesday, October 14, 1930, to James Dexter and Robbie D (Jones) Eoff in Dallas, Texas. A member of the Ballinger High School class of 1948, she studied Home Economics at Abilene Christian College, where she played flute in the Big Purple Band. She later received a Master of Arts in the field of Art at Kansas State University in Manhattan. A passionate teacher, she began her career in Aspermont, Texas, and soon relocated to Pecos where she met the love of her life, Jerome Wesley Campbell. They wed on July 2, 1955, at the 8 th Street Church of Christ in Ballinger. The couple proudly raised five children together and shared many adventures prior to Wesley’s passing in 2003. Bobbie worked at Ballinger ISD for 26 years prior to her retirement in 2002. Her years of service to the Special Education Department are remembered with much gratitude for her servant’s heart.

Bobbie was a devoted member of the Avenue B Church of Christ, now called Strong Avenue Church of Christ. She was also a long-time member of the Runnels County Historical Commission and the Hanging by a Thread Quilting Club in San Angelo. An avid quilter, she won many awards for her work and was known for her bright and colorful choice of fabrics. She loved family and placed importance on maintaining long-standing family traditions. Always a brilliant mind, in her leisure she enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome Wesley Campbell, Sr.; her son, Jerome Wesley Campbell, Jr.; and her brother, John Dexter Eoff.

She is survived by her children, Craig Lee Campbell of Lincoln, Arkansas; Kevin Lance Campbell and his wife Stacie Mishelle of Boise, Idaho; Shauna Len Campbell of Borger, Texas; Thorne Templeton Campbell and his wife Julie Ann of San Angelo; and her brother, Jerry Len Eoff, and his wife Shirley Lalla of San Angelo. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Madalyn Marie Campbell, Katharine Beckwith Campbell, Wyatt Templeton Campbell, Hanne Marie Campbell, Cade Holden Campbell, and Tess Alexandra Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26 th , 2023 at Strong Avenue Church of Christ, at 500 Strong Avenue in Ballinger. There will be an ice cream social reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to Lifeline Chaplaincy, 1415 Southmore Blvd., Houston, TX 77004-9906, or Hearts Hospice, 2007 W. Beauregard Ave., San Angelo, TX 76901.  The family would like to thank Bobbie's nurses, Andrea Leon, Cindy, and Christina for their assistance and dedication in her final days.  Additional thanks to her many Christian friends, too many to list by name.
