Brenda Lorene Balkum

Brenda Lorene (Green) Balkum, 59, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

She was born January 29, 1960, to Carter Ray and Laura Mae (Organ) Green Sr in Ballinger, Texas.  She married the love of her life Mickey Balkum on April 5, 1986, in Winters, Texas.  Brenda was always known as a fighter and overcame many battles.  She loved above all spending time with her family, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and Al Green.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Carter Ray and Laura Mae Green, her brother Carter Ray Green Jr., and her nephew Jason Young.

She is survived by her husband Mickey; daughter Laura and husband Carlington Hewitt, of New Jersey, daughter Tiffany and husband Blas Vasquez of San Angelo, and daughter Alana and husband William Johnson of Houston.  Brenda is also survived by her siblings Marilyn Young, Tisha Green, and Paul Green; special Cousin Martha Martinez.  She is also remembered by 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Smith officiating.

The Balkum family would also like to say a special thank you to Dr. Alan Hardwicke for his love and care of Brenda for all of these years.
