Bud Yancy

Charles Ray Bud Yancy 84 of Ballinger, Texas passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

Bud was a man of strength, of character, of integrity and honor, He loved God, his wife Sue, his family, his friends, his country, and President Donald Trump. He was a proud Marine who served his country. He loved the great outdoors. One of the fondest memories with his Kids was going to the deer lease. The family would always go deer hunting on Christmas along with four are five other families. They each would have something wonderful to share with everyone. One thing he always did was let the kids pick a tree on the deer lease, Bud would chop it down. they would then make homemade ornaments for the tree. Those Christmases were filled with so much love and were some of the best Christmases ever. Thank you, Dad, for the special memories. Bud loved growing things and building things. He was a masterful woodworker.

He owned his own glass business in Del Rio, Texas. after selling the business in the mid-80s, he met Sue and they married in 1987 in San Angelo, Texas. He went from being born in El Dorado Texas, to defending his country in the Marines, to owning a glass business, to building a line of custom-designed furniture desired and bought by many from all around. He also remained friends with most of his customers. All the kids have special pieces that he made for them. His pride and joy was the house he and Sue designed and built themselves in Talpa, Texas. He also loved doing things the old-fashioned way. he loved campfire or Dutch oven cooking. He and Sue had their own chuckwagon at one time. One of his greatest pleasures was cooking for a few wounded warriors at the Kerry and Kay Bruton ranch. Bud loved country music, dancing, and entertaining his many friends. Bud was rightfully a proud man who always stood tall and straight.

He is and will be missed by all who knew him. Bud had a soft spot in his heart for all his little furry pets whom he loved dearly. Bud is survived by his wife, Sue, his son Jerry, of Miles, Texas, his daughters, Shelly Sanford and husband Robbie of san Angelo, Carla Yancy of Miles son Gary Rogers and wife Sandra of Abilene, Texas. A special niece Darla Neill of San Angelo. He is survived as well by his 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bud is also survived by his beloved pets. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Daisy Rodgers Yancy and his siblings. His brothers Curtis, Forest, and Carl and his sisters Marie, Virginia, Jerry and Jody. Bud is preceded by a special friend and business partner Skinny Lupton, and many furry friends.

A memorial service will be held for Bud on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church of Ballinger, with Lynn Smith officiating.
