Carl Williams

Carl Gene Williams, 72, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was born June 13, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to parents Leonard Jr. and Leota Williams.

On New Year's Eve of 1981 in Houston, Texas, Carl had the joy of marrying the love of his life, Donna Kaye Miller.  Together they shared a wonderful, loving 42 years of marriage and raised a beloved daughter, Kristi.  Carl also had two special daughters, Dawn and Crystal, from his first marriage that he loved very much from afar.  Carl was a member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger, Texas.  Carl had a servant’s heart which was clear as he spent many weekends delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.  Carl was patient, never met a stranger, and always had a big smile on his face.  Carl’s positive light radiated in every room he walked in, and his smile was truly contagious.  Carl’s pride and joy was his loving family, and he was extremely proud of his daughter and grandchildren and all of their endeavors. In Carl’s younger days, he worked in any supervisory role in public utilities and loved to operate heavy equipment.

In later years, Carl teamed up with his father-in-law, Alton Bryan, and together they remodeled many homes.  He also enjoyed taking excellent care of his sheep, chickens, llama, cows, and most of all answering to every call and request of Donna, Kristi, Avery, Ali, and Miller.  Carl also always looked forward to a weekend adventure or travel with Donna, Patrick, and Lana.  Carl enjoyed working alongside his pal, Joe Rose and appreciated his tireless help over the years.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Leota Williams, father-in-law, Joe Miller, mother-in-law, Ruby Bryan, and other family members that meant so much to Carl.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Williams; daughter, Kristi Brundige; grandchildren, Avery Rodriguez and wife Dayana of San Diego, Ali Goetz, and Miller Goetz of Ballinger, Texas; sister-in-law Lana Burns and husband Patrick Burns, and Nikki Lowe and husband Robin Lowe; and sisters Rita Bell and Sherry Williams.  Carl is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, at the 9th Street Church of Christ at two o'clock in the afternoon with officiate, Max Pratt.
