Carlos " El Rookie" R. Rodriquez

Carlos R. " El Rookie"  Rodriquez, 74, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Abilene Regional Hospital.

He was born on June 7, 1945 to Hinocencio G. and Josie R. (Reyes) Rodriquez in Ballinger, Texas.   He worked in manufacturing for many years and was a member of Sacred Heart in Abilene, Texas.  He loved music and dancing.  He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and he was the life of the party when he was around. He loved looking "sharp" and dressing flashy. And loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hinocencio and Josie Rodriquez.

Carlos is survived by his children Angela Dotson of Abilene and Carlos Rodriquez Jr. of Austin, Texas.  He is also survived by his sisters Lucy Gentry, Nelly Lamb, and Ruby Gonzalez and brothers Johnny, Mike, Tommy, and Joe Rodriquez all of Abilene.  Carlos is also remembered by his grand-children Michael Dotson, Basilia Hester, and Chloe Gentle of Abilene; and great-grand-children Atticus and Roslin Hester.

A memorial service will be held for Carlos at a later date once the Covid crisis has ended.
