Carolyn Jane Martin

Carolyn Jane (Lee) Martin, 78, of San Angelo, Texas left this Earth and went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 2, 2018 after enduring an illness.

She was born in Crews, TX on February 22, 1940 to Roy Lee and Kate Robinson Lee.  She was one of four children.  Carolyn was married to the love of her life for 42 years, Billy Joe Martin.  They were blessed with five sons.  Billy Joe preceded her in death on June 24, 2015.  They are now together for eternity.  Carolyn touched the lives of everyone she met.  She will forever be remembered by her family and friends, who meant the world to her.

In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed reading, playing poker and dominoes, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to rodeos with Billy Joe.  At an early age, she was a hair dresser and an LVN.  After moving to the West Texas area, she was employed by Polaris Production and Helmerich and Payne.  After many years of being employed, she retired and they resided at Lake Ivie.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister Roy Ann (Anne) Rogers; and brother, Freddie Lee.  She is also preceded in death by her in-laws, Ray and Josie Martin; and two sisters-in-law, Katherine Martin and Doris Osborn.

She is survived by her five sons, Ricky Clark and wife, Mary, Sheldon Collins and wife, Bettina, and Doug Collins all of Iraan, TX, Joe Keith Martin and wife, Sonia of Odessa, TX and Ricky Martin and wife, Beth both of Kilaues, HI; sister, Donna Hedrick of Burleson, TX; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Martin and wife, Patsy, Rex Martin and wife, Gloria, and Jackie Martin and wife, Sharon; one sister-in-law, Ranita Newman.  Also surviving is numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and several other family members.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, August 6 at Lange Funeral Home, 1910 Hutchins Ave., Ballinger, TX.   A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 7 at Crews Cemetery in Crews, TX.

Carolyn’s grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
