Charles William Wood

Charles William Wood, 74, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, in San Angelo, Texas.

He was born on May 9, 1947, to Harold Lofton and Thelma Fay (Bishop) Wood in Junction, Texas.  He married the love of his life, LeLane Waldrop in 1968 in Menard, Texas, and together they shared 53 beautiful years.  Charles was a long-time member of the Ballinger Volunteer Fire Department.  He was an outdoorsman of all sorts, he especially enjoyed fishing out at the coast and hunting.  Above all things, Charles loved his family and dedicated his life to serving them.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Thelma Wood.

He is survived by his wife LeLane Wood, his son Aaron Wood and wife (Mary) of Wimberly, Texas, his grandson Reid Wood, and his siblings James Wood of Kerrville, Linda Rowe of Fredericksburg, and Melodie Durst of Georgetown, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
