Cynthia "Cindy" Ozbirn-Barrow

Cynthia “Cindy” Ozbirn-Barrow, 62, of Ballinger, Texas, went to be with The Lord peacefully on October 30, 2024. 

She was born on November 20, 1961, to Fred Ozbirn and Mary Deaton in Pecos, Texas. She attended Winters High School where she met her best friend of 44 years, Margaret Gray. Later, Cindy proudly dedicated 32 years of her life as an LVN. She enjoyed going on road trips, being out in the country, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Cindy never turned down a Dr. Pepper or a good plate of seafood. 

Cindy is preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Gary Ozbirn, Frankey Merrill, Carl Ozbirn, and Lonnie Ozbirn; her sisters Mary Jane Bryson, Barbara Allen, Norma Williams, and Freda Sue Ozbirn; her “son-in-law” Eric Hoelscher, and her daughter, Christy Nichols, along with many other close friends and family members.

She is survived by her grandson (Christy’s son) RJ Odom, who she had the pleasure of raising, and his girlfriend Taylor Schwertner of Miles, Texas; daughter Jennifer Aguilera and husband Gabriel of San Angelo, Texas, daughter Melanie Fields and husband Michael of San Angelo, Texas; brother Chris Ozbirn and wife Jackie of Winters, Texas, sister Betty Brown of Winters, Texas, brother Don Ozbirn of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren Devon Hoelscher, Abel Aguilera, Adam Aguilera, Kynzlee Fields, Keeli Duncan, Karmyn Fields, and Kallan Fields, along with numerous nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and many other children that called her “Mom” and “Gramma.”

The family would like to extend a “thank you” to Dr. Cheruku and his team at Shannon, and a special “thank you” to Dr. Rabe at Shannon. 

A visitation for Cindy will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas from 11:00 - 5:00 pm. Her graveside service will be held the following day, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, in Rowena, Texas.
