Daniel John Hallmark

Lifelong resident of Ballinger, Texas, Daniel John Hallmark, 91 left for his heavenly home on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Ballinger Memorial Hospital. He was born to Isaac Newton Hallmark and Minnie Peel Hallmark on March 30,1933. He was the second youngest of 13 children. 

He graduated from Ballinger High School then he attended college at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. Daniel, or (Danny) as they called him, played football for TCU all his college years, then he graduated from TCU in 1954. He even got to play football at the cotton bowl while playing with TCU. After college, Daniel enlisted in United States Air Force and served his country proudly. 

After serving in the Air Force, Daniel returned home and met and married his soul mate, Nancy Lou Clayton. They were married in First Presbyterian Church of Big Spring, Texas on June 7, 1958. Daniel and Nancy were blessed with 2 children, Dade and Tammy. Daniel and Nancy were married for 64 years until her passing on February 10, 2022.

Daniel worked in the oil rigs for a while. but then started his career of being a stock farmer in Runnels and Coleman County which he continued to work all his life. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, his parents, sisters Alice, Willie, Thelma, Novalene, Claudine, Mae, Wilma, Mildred, Gladys, his brothers, Herman, and Clarence.

He is survived by 1 sister Billie Holland, his son, Dade (Jackie) Hallmark, and daughter, Tammy (David) Torres.

Grandchildren, Eva (Roque)Torres, Reese (Rayven) Hallmark, David Torres Jr., and John David Torres.

Great Grandchildren, Aurora Muna, Ava Muna, and Hudson Hallmark.

The family would like to thank Ballinger Healthcare and Rehab Center and Dr. Bundrant for all their care.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 @ 2pm at Norwood Cemetery in Talpa, Texas with Pastor Lynn Smith officiating.
