Danny Ray Mcclain

July 16, 1957 — December 28, 2020

Danny Ray McClain, 63, of Paint Rock, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 28, 2020.

He was born on Tuesday, July 16, 1957, to Samuel Ray and Charlotte Scott McClain in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Odessa High School’s class of 1977.  Danny loved the outdoors, especially fishing, working on his home and his property.  He could be seen working from dawn to dusk, and just this year he planted 14 brand new trees on his property knowing well that he would not be able to see them grow to their full glory.  He did it just for the fact that he knew they would be there.  He was a Harley Davidson man that loved his motorcycles and had a sense of humor that could be appreciated by all.  Danny might have been hard to get to know, but once you did, he would give you the shirt off of his own back. He was just that kind of guy. Danny built his own home and had the incredible gift of being able to build or mechanically fix anything.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Charlotte McClain.

He is survived by his daughters Kathy (Melissa) and Maranda; his two sisters, five grandkids, and one brother. Danny will also be dearly remembered by his closest friends, Toby Bullard, Valon Sapp, Paul Burns, and Johnny Morales.  He will be greatly missed by his Boxer, Moose.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or your local Humane Society.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, a memorial service will be held for Danny at a later date.
