David Springer

October 14, 1953 — June 4, 2019

In the same way he lived, Michael David Springer, passed away quietly and privately on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at his home in Ballinger at the age of 65.

David was born October 14, 1953, in Abilene, Texas, to James Lewis and Irene (Ward) Springer who taught him the value of family, faith, and upstanding business ethics.  David married Becky Faulkner January 2, 1976, in Lubbock, and the couple instilled the same ideals in their sons and grandchildren.  A loving husband, an attentive dad, and a proud grandfather, David took special joy in his family.   David was also proud to be a graduate of Rotan High School and a 1976 graduate of Texas Tech University.   He had a warm place in his heart for animals, especially his dog, Karter, who was a loyal and constant companion.

Ballinger will remember with respect David’s service with Ballinger National Bank, as his high ideals extended into the business world.  During 27 years of banking, he was always kind and truthful in his dealings with people.  David faced the pleasures and problems of life with grace, dignity, and integrity.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Becky Springer of Ballinger; sons, Guy Springer of Abilene, and Clay Springer of Possum Kingdom Lake; granddaughter, Alyssa Springer Tibbs and husband, Brahden, of San Angelo; and grandsons, Tayton and Jason Springer of Ballinger.  Also surviving are his mother, Irene Springer of Abilene; brother, Phillip Springer and wife, Donna, of Ballinger; and sister, Cynthia Henderson and husband, Scott, of Abilene.  David was preceded in death by his father.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Thursday, June 6, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 Thursday afternoon at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan.
