Donna Kay Elkins

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donna Kay Elkins, 63, of Ballinger, Texas, who departed this life peacefully on January 31, 2025.

She was born on June 18, 1961, in San Angelo, Texas, to Troy Don and Mildred (Tabor) King. A devoted wife to Jerry Elkins, Donna cherished the simple moments in life with her friends and family. Her spunk and wit brought comfort and happiness to those around her. She was a loud mouthed woman; if she wasn’t giving you a hard time, chances were, she probably didn’t like you. Throughout Donna’s life she enjoyed shopping, riding motorcycles, losing at cards to her oldest daughter and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Her generous spirit and spitfire attitude made lasting impressions on everyone she met.

Donna is preceded in death by her father Troy Don King and mother Mildred Tabor (Jimmie Tabor).

She is survived by her husband Jerry Elkins, her daughters Jennifer Zickefoose (Daniel Zickefoose), Kimberly Cochran and Rebecca Elkins; grandchildren Logan, Lincoln and Levi Zickefoose, Ethan Barber and Hannah Cochran; sister Becky Garrison; brother Phil King (Sandy King) and many nieces and nephews.

 A celebration of life will be held 15 February 2025 at 4:00 at 413 N 11th St. Ballinger, TX 76821. In true Donna fashion she wanted a party and not a funeral, so please come share stories that she can no longer tell or stories that she may not have wanted to.

 In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the memorial fund to help cover the families final expenses. Please do not bring plants/flowers she already has too many to keep up with.
