Dora Islas Sanchez

Dora Islas Sanchez, 70, of Ballinger was born June 17, 1951, in Robstown, Texas, and passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, TX.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents Perfecto M Islas and Abelia Islas, brothers Roberto and Juan Islas, sister Gloria Soliz and grandson Steven Islas.

Dora enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially watching her grandson play football. She also liked to Latch and Hook during her spare time and hang out and laugh and joke around with family on the weekends.

Dora is survived by her husband Sixto Sanchez, Sr. of Ballinger, her children Rebecca Islas Lopez and husband Guadalupe Lopez, Rachel Islas and Melanie Beimer, Christy Islas all of Abilene Texas, and Sarah Islas and son Randy Islas of Ballinger. She is also survived by her sister Irma Islas Riggs and husband Garland, Sr. of Hamilton, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews,  an aunt, and uncles.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Hitchcock and West Texas Rehab Center Hospice of San Angelo and Dr. Cheruku and staff for their amazing and compassionate care in caring for our mother. A private family graveside service will be held at the Latin American Cemetery at a later date.
