Doris Mae Studer

February 27, 1937 — September 2, 2024

Doris Mae Studer passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Ballinger, Texas.

She was born in Blue Point, NY, on February 27, 1937 to Robert and Mary Geary.

She married the love of her life James Edward Studer in a ceremony in Vero Beach, Florida on April 15, 1961.  Doris will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished member of the Ballinger community. Doris was also a very active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church as well as part of the Altar Society. She had a loving and charitable spirit and a love for her faith and family that showed in everything she did and all the lives she touched.  She also enjoyed painting and was a member of the local Ballinger Art Guild.  Above all things, she loved God, her husband and her family. Her happiest moments were being surrounded by her family.

Doris was preceded in death by: Her son Michael Studer, her parents Robert and Mary Geary, her sister Mary Ann Chesser and brother Robert Geary, Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Studer, and their children Edward(Kristen) Studer, Theresa(Bill) Hunter, Rita(Chris) Harman, Catherine Studer, Thomas(Carolyn) Studer and Jean Zertuche. Doris will also be deeply missed by her 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and her brother Edward Geary.

A rosary for Doris will be said on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the chapel at Lange Funeral Home.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day, Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger, Texas, with Father Timothy Hayter celebrating.  Interment will follow at The Cross.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pregnancy Help Center, Tunnel to Towers and Shriner's Children's in honor of Doris, or charity of choice.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

In recognition of her unwavering love and presence in the lives of many, Doris Mae Studer will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her.
