Edna Lanette Bundick

November 2, 1962 — September 14, 2023

Edna Lanette Bundick, 60, of Blanket, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Central Texas Nursing in Ballinger, Texas.

She was born on November 2, 1962, to Claude and Mary Alda (Hobbs) Bundick in Brownwood, Texas.   The youngest of 9 & she was spoiled by most of them! Lanette was a kind soul, that loved animals, and truly enjoyed serving others.  She had a sweet tooth, especially for ice cream and diet cokes.  Her most favorite time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren that were the light of her life.  Everything else faded away when those grands were in the room! Lanette was always up for a game of spoons, Yahtzee or UNO with her loved ones, and she enjoyed winning!  She was a hard worker, when given the opportunity, and she loved delivering meals on wheels with her sister Ima.  Above all she loved Jesus, the center of her life since childhood.  Her empathy & faith were evident even in the last week as she prayed for & checked on a staff member every day at the nursing home.

Her brain may have kept her from loving school or living as independently as she wanted, but it sure helped her remember details! Like how a rabid skunk chased her when she was just 2. Or how much she loved her red Pinto! Or when she prayed with 7 year old Becky as she accepted Jesus as her Savior, then jumped for joy, announcing to everyone that Becky felt Jesus!

Lanette is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Mary Bundick, her sisters Alice McLaughlin and Nina Parker, her brothers Milton and Dale Bundick, her brother-in-laws Beryl McLaughlin and Willis Bassham, & sister-in-law Barbara Bundick, nieces Cynthia Heard, baby Kathy, great nephew Justin, and multiple aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her daughters Jessica Rudloff and husband Jed of Temple, Texas and  Stephanie Smith and husband Barrett of Ballinger, Texas. Lanette will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jaden Rudloff and wife Alley, Jayli Rudloff., Keeley Smith, and Ethyn Smith. Surviving her as well are her siblings, Faye Bassham of Tyler, Eddie Bundick and wife Sharron of Blanket, Ima Martin and husband Herbie of Early, and Travis Bundick and wife Bobbie of Blanket, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Lanette will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Blanket, Texas.  Her funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Texas.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Bundrant for his exceptional care and treatment of our precious Mama, the staff at Central Texas, and the Lange Funeral Home for helping us during this difficult time.
