It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eloisa Escobar Lopez, who left us peacefully on February 22, 2025, at Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ballinger Texas.
Eloisa was born to Fermin and Jesusita Flores Escobar on January 18, 1943, in Ballinger, Texas. Eloisa embraced life with unwavering strength and a remarkable spirit that was on full display throughout her entire life.
Eloisa was a dedicated and caring woman, lovingly serving those around her with a selfless heart. She can be remembered waitressing at The Friendly Corner, laughing and bringing joy to those she served. She worked at Electrospace for many many years and sewed at Gerber's for years as well. Throughout her life, she demonstrated the extraordinary ability to take nothing and turn it into something. Whether through her creative talents and sewing or her passion for yard work, a true artist in her own right, she found joy in transforming her surroundings, constantly leaving her family and friends continually inspired by her boundless creativity!
Her enduring love for the Dallas Cowboys and her Mighty Ballinger Bearcats was a testament to her spirited and competitive personality. "The Golden Girls" (Eloisa and Ms. Helen Escobar) could be found cheering at Bearcat games and sporting events all around the area. Eloisa's unwavering devotion to her family was evident in all she did and she cherished the moments that she got to spend with them.
Eloisa was a lifelong member of the St Mary's Catholic Church in Ballinger Texas and her strong faith was a guiding light in her life. She will be deeply missed but her family and friends find solace and joyfully celebrate the fact that she is with her creator without pain or worry.
Eloisa was preceded in death by her loving parents: Fermin Escobar Sr. and Jesusita Escobar. Children: Johnny Joe Escobar, Serena Sue Lopez, Harry Escobar Reyna, and James Escobar Nixon. Grandchildren: Louis James Aguirre and Nicolas Max Aguirre Jr. Brothers: Sammy "Chame" Escobar, Danny "Bimbo" Escobar, and Roy "Raul" Escobar.
Eloisa will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness, the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her, and her willingness to sacrifice for the benefit of others. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family who will forever carry forward the love she instilled in them.
Eloisa is survived by a daughter Samantha Cecile Lopez of San Angelo, TX. and a very special grandson who was the light of her life, whom she raised and proudly called a son from birth, Harry "Gooch" Reyna (wife Jamie Reyna) of Austin TX.
She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Nicolas Max Aguirre, Zoe Jewelle Aguirre (Evan Fierro), James Aguirre, Sadie Sue Aguirre, Jett Lucas Aguirre, Jake Louis Aguirre, Jayton Schaaf, Keegan Nixon, Remi Jones, Devan Nixon. as well as twenty-two great-grandchildren, Xailah Elizabeth Reyna, Alyssa, Ruben, Joseph, Noel, Analiah, Jeremiah, Alexah, Adriana, and AliyannaTucker, Max Axle, Reyna, and Henry Aguirre. Leia Fierro, her very special namesake Bella Eloisa Aguirre, Hayden Said, Lukas Fierro, and Maddison Fierro. Anastasia Autumn, Adelaya Elaine Aguirre, Mateo James Aguirre. Five Great great grandchildren: Aniyah Dior, Ruben Jaimezae, Ava, Messiah, and Jeremiah Salazar.
Eloisa is also survived by seven brothers and sisters: Gloria Lopez (late Erineo Lopez) of Joliet Illinois, Fermin Escobar Jr. (late Maria Escobar) Of Abilene TX, Joe Escobar (wife Mickey Escobar) of Abilene Tx, Josie Gomez (Husband Robert "Big Bobby" Gomez of Ballinger Tx, Alejandro Escobar, Fred Escobar of San Antonio Tx, and her baby sister Janie "Mana" Escobar of Abilene Tx.
Very special nieces and nephews include Mario Lopez (wife Becky), David Lopez (wife Sheryl), Viola Lopez (husband Jose), Rosemary Escobar, Martha (Billy), Amy (Ronnie), Danny Escobar (Nancy), Lupe (Mike), Lisa Brown, Dana Escobar, Jessica Escobar, James Escobar (Moe), Chris Escobar, Monica Bercott, Robert "Little Bobby" Gomez, B.J. Gomez (wife Farrah), Salina Poindexter (husband Brent), Billy Escobar (wife Norma), Nancy Granados (husband Gilbert) Amanda Escobar, and also a very special cousin Vanessa Alvarado. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Teresa Escobar, her honorary daughter Missie Fitche, a daughter-in-law Sabrina Pollard, a son-in-law Nick Aguirre, and a very special friend Yolanda Jacques.
It would be a shame to forget Eloisa's baby Mia. They had an unbreakable bond and Eloisa loved her dearly.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St Mary’s Star of the Sea in Ballinger, Texas at 10:00 a.m. with Father Hilary Ihedioha officiating.
The family would like to thank Ballinger Hospice and the staff at Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ballinger Texas. A Special thanks to Cynthia, Lauren, Sylvia, Gloria, Heather, and Rhonda.
The family requests flowers and for those who attend the rosary to display their Bearcat spirit by wearing red and black in honor of Eloisa.
