Elvira Escobar Fuentes

Elvira E. Fuentes, 77, of Ballinger went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 29, 2019.

She was born on March 19, 1942, in Ballinger, to Louis and Erlinda (Quirino) Escobar.  Elvira and Henry Fuentes were married April 27, 1959 in Rowena.  Elvira was a housekeeper for Mueller Supply for many years before retiring to be home to enjoy spending time with her children and most beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a member of the Ballinger Apostolic Community Church, where she loved to praise the Lord.  Elvira loved her time working at Mueller’s, and she was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Enrique Guerrero Fuentes; her brothers Richard Sr. and Juan Escobar;  and grandsons, Joey and David Fuentes, Jr.

Mrs. Fuentes is survived by: her children, Enrique Escobar Fuentes, Edward Fuentes Sr., and wife Angie, Raymond Fuentes and wife Becky, and Melinda Sanchez, all of Ballinger, Theresa Jackson, and husband Barry of San Angelo, Texas, and David Fuentes Sr. and wife Maria of Rowena, siblings; Robert Escobar Sr., Carolyn Rocha, Mary Garcia, and Della Castor.

There will be a time of visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church officiated by Alfonso Ruiz.  Burial will take place in the Latin-American Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be John Escobar, Edward Fuentes Jr, Barry Jackson, Justin Lopez, Armando Fuentes, Paul Irlas, Johnathon Fuentes, and Jason Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Escobar Jr and Matthew Fuentes.
