Ethelene Lois Roberts

Ethelene Lois Roberts, 83, of Ballinger, TX passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023 at Ballinger Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on January 15, 1940, to Ray and Birdie Brown in Roswell, NM. At a young age, Ethelene's family relocated to Ballinger, Texas. Ethelene lived in Uvalde for several years before making Ballinger her permanent residence.

Ethelene worked as a nurse's aide and private sitter for many years. Her favorite hobbies included reading books and solving crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Anyone who knew Ethelene, knew that she loved diet Dr. Pepper. Ethelene was also a member of the Glory Road Cowboy Church.

Ethelene is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Birdie, husband Olen Roberts, stepson Andy Roberts, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Kenneth McDonald, and former spouse AJ Martin.

She is survived by her children, Kay Winans and husband Rodger of Ballinger, Lois Horton and husband Roy of Bastrop, Johnny Martin of Uvalde, James Martin and wife Aurora of Uvalde, Jay Martin of Uvalde, and stepson Bobby Roberts of Ballinger; Ten grandchildren which includes Eric Hale and wife Dana of Possum Kingdom Lake, Ashley Daniels and husband Bryce of San Angelo, Kevin Hale of San Angelo, Morgan Hale and Frankie of San Angelo, Amanda Grayson of Bastrop, Megan Haliliaj and husband Visar of La Grange, Jessie Kresta and husband David of San Angelo, Eric Martin of Uvalde, Aaron Martin of Uvalde, Jayme Martin of Uvalde; and eighteen great grandchildren. Ethelene will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Memorial services for Ethelene will be held at 11am on January 20, 2024 at Glory Road Cowboy Church. Services will be officiated by Myron Halford. We would like to thank Ballinger Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of Ballinger for the loving care they provided.
