Frances Cleo “Fran” Reynolds Robinson, 84, passed peacefully January 26, 2024, with her family by her side. Frances was born in Burnet, Texas on August 15, 1939, to Eveline and Frank Reynolds. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Fran grew up on a ranch in West Texas and graduated from Eldorado High School. She attended San Angelo Commercial College where she met her roommate’s cousin Donald Robinson. Fran and Don married in 1958 in Eldorado.
In the mid-1960s, they moved to Fort Stockton where Fran worked for many years at Pecos County State Bank, her bright smile welcoming customers as a drive-through teller. After their kids were grown, they moved to San Angelo to be near extended family. While Don worked internationally, Fran taught computer classes at the San Angelo Senior Services Center and had a home-based bakery. She hosted numerous birthdays, showers, and receptions where her artistry shined through her splendidly decorated cakes. She also showed her creativity through sewing, crocheting, and making custom Christmas stockings for all her children and grandchildren.
In the mid-1990s, Fran and Don moved to mainland China for Don’s job and Fran taught English at the Chinese elementary school. She took pride in knowing her little Chinese students learned to speak English with a Texas accent. They then moved to Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. Fran loved seeing the great pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx, valley of the kings and queens, and cruising down the Nile River.
As they neared retirement, Fran inherited land in Concho County from her paternal grandmother. Fran and Don moved to her ranch where they enjoyed riding the fences and watching the native wildlife, especially the birds. In their twilight years, they lived with their daughter in Arlington, Texas, where they were lovingly cared for by her and son-in-law Bill Bagley.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Johnny Ray Reynolds, and her husband Don. Survivors include her daughter Sherlene Bagley of Arlington and her son Kerry (Marivel) Robinson of Midland; grandsons Wesley (Chrissie) and Ronny (Katie) of Midland; granddaughters Claire and Chloe Bagley of Arlington; great-grandsons Spencer, Hunter, Cooper, and Preston; step-grandchildren Malori and Dawson Ewing; and step-great grandsons Camron Bettis and J. R. Rodriguez all of Midland. She is also survived by her sister Lanell Reynolds of Arlington, TX.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3rd at 1 pm, at Lange Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery Garden of Memories in Ballinger. In remembrance, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
