Francis Joseph Hoelscher

Francis Joseph Hoelscher, 85, of Olfen, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30,2024.

He was born on January 4, 1939, to Walter Andrew and Mary Agustus (Knoff) Hoelscher at the farm in Olfen, Texas. After grade school at Olfen, Francis could be found at the family farm driving tractors. He loved to drive tractors so much that one night he drove one until it ran out of gas. His favorite hobby wasn’t moving rocks, but he sure did a lot of that. Francis also had a love of horses, and all things horse related. He was also a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas. 

Francis is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Hoelscher, as well as his siblings Weldon Hoelscher, Jerome Hoelscher, Clarence Hoelscher, Joyce Ann Hoelscher, and Benedict “Ben” Hoelscher.

He is survived by his sisters Grace Beach, Marilyn Midkiff and Patricia Kvapil, and his brothers LeRoy Hoelscher and Leon Rudolph Hoelscher, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held for Francis on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 9:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am also at St. Boniface with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Francis’s name.
