Harold Lee Zimmerman, 88, of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence.
He was born March 25, 1931 to John and Lillian (Russel) Zimmerman in Kearney, Nebraska. Harold proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. He married Dora Elia Medina on November 23, 1974 in Torrington, WY. They shared forty-four loving years together. Harold worked for Contadina Canning, in Handfort, California, as a forklift driver for several years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, San Jose Men’s Club, and Aqua Sharks/Scuba Diver. Harold attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles.
He is preceded in death by sons, Bradley Zimmerman and Douglas Zimmerman; daughter, Sandra Kay Zimmerman; granddaughter, Angela Zimmerman; grandson, Frankie Woyak; his parents; three brothers, Paul Zimmerman, Henry Zimmerman, and Clifford Zimmerman; and two sisters, Ester Snider and Lena Linden.
Harold is survived by his wife, Dora of Ballinger; his children, Robert Lopez, Rhonda Woyak of Torrington, WY, Anadelia Mathis of Poteet, TX, Cassie Oaks of Cheyenne, WY, Abby Lopez of Poteet, TX, Vera Esther Meraz of Midland, TX, Adela Wellman of Columbus, OH, Petra Anderson of Canyon, TX, and Johanna Mesmer of Eveston, WY; thirty-eighty grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 10 at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene.
