Helen M. French

Helen M. French, 90, of Snyder passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, after a brief illness.

She was born on January 20, 1929 in Malone, Texas to Phillip Lester Shuler and Alma Mildred Wills.  Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church.   She met and married the love of her life, Forrest French in Brownwood, TX and they were married on January 2, 1950 in Brownwood.  Later that year, they moved to Paint Rock, TX where they made their home and raised three sons.  After Mr. French retired from teaching, they moved to Ballinger, TX.  In 2002, they moved to Snyder to be closer to family. In 2004, after fifty-four years of marriage, Mr. French went to be with our Lord and Savior, to wait on his beloved wife to come join him.  In 2013, Mrs. French went to live at Snyder Oaks Care Center.  This was to start a very new and exciting experience for her.  She absolutely loved all the staff and even called some of them her adopted daughters.  The family can never express enough appreciation for the love and care that was given to her.

Helen is survived by her three sons, Glyn and Cindy French of Snyder, Clinton and Jean French of Hawley, and Edwin French of Abilene; seven grandchildren, Brooke and Troy Botts, Jr., Missy Midwell, Michelle Rodriquez, Travis and Joylynn French, Sonya and Mark Huggins, Laura and Chris Walton, and Sierra and Cameron Campbell; thirteen great-grandchildren, Karson Botts, Troy Botts III, Jessie Rodriquez, Eliseo Rodriquez, Austin French, Garret French, Breanna Huggins, Tyler Huggins, Heather Huggins, Shelby Huggins, Zoie Walton, Caitlyn Walton, Fox Walton, and Charlotte Campbell; one great-great grandchild, Cole Rodriquez; and a brother, Dr. Phillip Shuler.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger with her brother, Dr. Phillip Shuler officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger.  Helen’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
