Helen Sue Chambliss

Helen “Sue” Chambliss, 69, of Ballinger, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Shannon Medical Center.

She was born September 9, 1949 to Glenn and Mildred (Moore) Miles in Topeka, Kansas.  She married Tommy Chambliss on June 1, 1983 in Oklahoma City, OK.  Sue was a registered nurse, receiving her degree from Angelo State University. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Abilene.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy of Ballinger; her children, William (Billy) Luke Bennefield of Ballinger, and Mary Ann Hollis of Paint Rock; her step-children, Tommy Chambliss, Jr. of Buffalo Gap, Terry Chambliss of Grape Creek, Tammy Fenwick of Ballinger, and Tracy Cartwright of Norton; sisters, Charlotte Herrmann of Wakarusa, KS, Betty Jo Miles of Wakarusa, KS, and Margaret Browning of Topeka, KS; her thirteen grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm on Friday, January 18 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters.
