Henry Wade Clanton

Henry Wade Clanton was born February 2, 1948, in Odessa, TX to James William and Francis (Hallen) Clanton.  He was sent to join the angels in heaven on August 23, 2021, at 3:30 pm.   Henry was the sixth out of eight children.

Henry was a hard-working man who loved his friends and family unconditionally.  He loved to mow lawns, scratch lottery tickets, and flirt with the ladies.  If you were a woman in his life, you were most likely called “cuter than a ladybug in a rug.”  He also loved to make people smile and brought joy to those around him.

Due to Henry’s disabilities, he was unable to maintain a job but that didn’t stop him from taking care of his loved ones.  He was known to be a Junker and would often bring his children along with him to pick up cans.  He always found a way to provide for his family.  Henry loved his country music, Hank Williams being his favorite.  He made sure to teach all of his children the music that made him happy and would sometimes drag them along to sing karaoke with him.  He had a strong relationship with the Lord, and Heaven has gained a pure soul.  Henry will be missed dearly by those who knew him.  Henry will be waiting for everyone at the Pearly Gates of Heaven when it's their time to join him.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jeany; and his siblings, Estaline, Daphine, Michael, and Sandy.

He is survived by his beautiful children, Lydia Marie Collins, Kenneth Michael Wade Clanton, Emily Rose Clanton, Darrell, Christina, and his two sons-in-law, Jason Thurmond and Brandon Garvin.  He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren; Amber, Alicia, James, Frank, Jeffrey, Piper, Dakota, Shyla, Bella, Karma, Peyton, Kenneth, William Henry, Harley, and Cynthia.  He also leaves behind numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Bluff Creek Cowboy Church in Winters, TX on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1 pm.
