Howell Earl Jones

Howell Earl Jones, 78, of Ballinger, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

Howell was born on August 27, 1943, in Ballinger, Texas to Howell Earl and Dollie Mae (Gardner) Jones.  He married Jeanette Marie Batchelor on December 18, 1964, in Ballinger.  Howell served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965.  He worked for various units in the Texas Department of Corrections for over 17 years.

Howell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Bobby Ray Jones; and his three sisters, Gertrude Armstrong, Earline Allison, and Lucy Jones.

He is survived by his brother Ron and wife Peggy Jones of Temple, Texas; nieces, Margie and husband Todd Schroeder of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Sharon Bettis of Seguin, Texas; and his brother-in-law, Will D. Armstrong of Galveston, Texas.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 7:30 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.  A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger.

The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors at Ballinger Memorial Hospital for taking good care of Howell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a favorite charity in Howell’s honor.
