Jaye Herrmann, 61, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 12, 2025.
He was born on November 15, 1963, in College Station, Texas, to Dr. Wayne “Doc” and Ann (Chamberlain) Herrmann. Jaye grew up in Ballinger, Texas and graduated from Ballinger High School in 1982. Jaye was known for his incredible work ethic as a Safety Coordinator at AAON, where he was respected and appreciated for his dedication to keeping others safe. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jaye will be remembered for his infectious laughter, genuine kindness, and the light he brought to every room.
Jaye was a devoted husband to his beloved spouse, Pat Herrmann, and a proud father to his son, Kenneth Herrin and his wife Lisa. He cherished his role as a grandfather, and became known as “Papa” Jaye, to Kourtney and Kendall Herrin, and Brittany Veuleman.
Jaye was preceded in death by: his mother, Vella Ann Herrmann; son, Donald Herrin; maternal grandparents, Alvin "Jack" and Elnora Chamberlain; paternal grandparents, Darwin "Dobb" and Ethel Herrmann; brother-in-law, Rodney Buxkemper; and granddaughter, Tressa Mafouz.
He also leaves behind his loving father, Wesley "Doc" Herrmann; sister, Laura Buxkemper and her sons Jack Buxkemper and Joshua Jakotowicz; great-grandchildren Ryder, Kennedy, Rosalia, Austin, Ashtin, Sawyer, Cooper; great-great-grandchildren, Grace, Parker, and Cooper who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Jaye spent his life embracing every moment, delighting in good company, and bringing laughter to those around him. He loved NASCAR, BBQ cooking competitions, and golf. He will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a time of visitation and a Celebration of Life on February 22, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Glory Road Cowboy Church in Ballinger. There will be a Celebration of Life held for Jaye in Longview on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Church of Lake Cherokee at 11:00 AM.
