Jeffery Poland

Jeffery Poland, 62, of Kerrville, Texas, formerly of Ballinger, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, in Midland, Texas after spending a wonderful weekend with family and friends that brought so much joy to his heart.

He was born on Thursday, October 6, 1960, to Lloyd and Arlene (Heathcott) Poland, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jeffery married his one true love and best friend Opal Halfmann, in Olfen, Texas, on June 1, 1985, and together they shared 37 years loving each other. He was a wonderful chef, restaurant and country club manager, body builder, and an avid gun lover. Most importantly, he loved his family and was an amazing Papop . He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Fishing, FaceTime calls, coloring, playing Uno, and playing pranks were some of his favorite things to do with them. Jeffery had the gift of gab and never knew a stranger, everyone was instantly a friend. He was known for his amazing personality and the way he made people feel when they were In his presence. Even on his hardest days he could always lift someone else up and make their day brighter. Jeffery’s daughters were the light of his life and if anyone asked him what his greatest accomplishment was it was Ashley & Erica.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Clarence Halfmann.

He is survived by his wife, Opal; daughters, Ashley Watson and husband Tres, of Midland, and Erica Moffett and husband Keith, of Ballinger; grandchildren, Ryder Watson, AnnaClaire Watson, Lincoln Moffett, and Georgia Moffett; brother Jim Poland and wife Debbie; sisters, Darla Tarwater and husband Johnny, Jane Taylor and husband Doug; nieces Beth Darnell, Brittany Taylor, Amber Taylor; nephews Robert Poland, and Shane Mason.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at St. Joseph  Cemetery, in Rowena.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in honor of Jeffery.
