Jerline "Patsy, Jerri" Evelyn Rohmfeld

Jerline “Patsy, Jerri” Evelyn Rohmfeld, 88, went to the Heavenly Kingdom on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

She was born on May 28, 1934, to Paul and Josephine (Pelzel) Sturm in Ballinger, Texas.  She came from a large family and was number 17 out of 18 children.  She married her first love, Raymond Rohmfeld on December 29, 1952, and they shared 64 years together before his passing on September 15, 2017.  Jerri was a hairdresser for over 64 years and was a devoted farmer’s wife and mother.  The loves of her life were her husband Ray, daughter Becky, her church, her grandchild by choice, Tyler Smith, and her family.  She also loved cooking, people, and gambling.  She was a great cook and would welcome people into her home at any time.  She was a faithful member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger and served as a member of the Altar Society.  Later in life, she became an avid hunter.

Jerri was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Rohmfeld; parents, Paul and Josephine Sturm; sisters, Josephine Schwertner, Elizabeth Sturm, Tillie Piel, Louise Schwertner, Mary Sturm, Helen Matthiesen, Florine Kellermeier, Frieda Janca, Julia Rohmfeld, Emma Kruppa, and Rosa Schwertner.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Fred, Louis, and Henry Sturm.

Jerri is survived by her daughter Becky Rohmfeld; twin sisters, Lorene Cmerek and Dorene Matthiesen; Tyler Smith and wife Brandee, and Robby Cook and wife Gage. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

A Rosary will be recited at Lange Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 6:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger with Father Timothy Hayter celebrating.  Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena, Texas.
