Jesse Wayne Hopper, Sr

Jesse Wayne Hopper, 70, of Spring Branch passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Canyon Lake, Texas.

Jesse was born in San Angelo, Texas, on April 17, 1952, to J.D. and Loraine (Bowdry) Hopper.  He spent his childhood and attended school in Ballinger. After dating for less than two months, he married Patricia Ruth Inman on December 23, 1971. During their 50 years of marriage, they had 2 children, Jesse Jr., and Stacy. Jesse was also a loving grandfather to his 5 grandchildren. He served in the Texas Army National Guard for over 20 years, before retiring and starting a second career at Mueller. During his time in Runnels County, he was a member of the Ballinger Country Club served as a board member, and was a long-time member of the Runnels County Bass Club. He loved his family, fishing, bowling, golf, guns, darts, and talking politics. Jesse was also a huge fan of high school and college football and spent many summers coaching baseball.  He rarely missed any of his kids’ or grandkids’ activities. Jesse lived his life to the fullest. He spent his last day cruising the lake, drinking a cold beer, singing old songs, and reminiscing about good times.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Loraine Hopper.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Patricia Hopper, his son Jesse Jr and wife Belinda Hopper of Ft. Worth, Texas, his daughter Stacy Hopper and boyfriend Chad Mercer of New Braunfels, Texas, and grandchildren, Myranda Fuentes and boyfriend Marcos Martinez, Brianna Fuentes, Zach Fuentes and girlfriend Celeste Martinez, Casianna Limon-Soto and wife Priscilla, and A.J. Peña.  He is also survived by his siblings, sister Trudy Redman and husband Dickie of Ballinger, Texas, brother Flynn Gideon and wife Lana of the Kwajalein, sister T.J. Lindsey and husband Ken of Crooked Oak, Alabama, brother Gene Bilbrey of Arlington, Texas, brother-in-law, Joe Inman and wife Debbie of Early, and his cousin whom he loved like a brother William Lambard and wife Kathy. He will also be greatly missed by his two cats Willie and Momma.

A visitation will be held for Jesse on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. His funeral service will be held the following day at 10:00 am on Friday, June 17, 2022, with Caleb Virden officiating.
