Jill H. Haley

Jill Haley, 93, at Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ballinger, Texas, passed from this earth late on July 13, 2024.

She was born on January 15, 1931, in Sonora, Texas, to Clyde and Thelma Henderson.

She married Don Haley and moved to Ballinger, where she worked at Ballinger Memorial Hospital, at the Wellness Center for many years.

Jill was a secretary at San Angelo State School and retired after 20 years of employment. She was active in the TPEA. She served as President and Membership Chairperson. After her retirement she went to work as office assistant/leasing agent at Casa Rio Apartments in San Angelo.

She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Ballinger for many years.

Those surviving Jill are her daughter, Jinx Schaefer, Leroy of Ballinger, grandson Cody Traylor and Mala and great grandson Gunner Vonn Traylor, one sister June Prater, Gene of Georgetown, Texas, three sisters-in-law, Frances Henderson of Houston, Texas, Judy Henderson of New Braunfels, Texas, and Sue Henderson of Oklahoma. Jill is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde and Thelma Henderson, her precious son, John E. (Jay) Traylor, brothers, Clyde Jr. and Perry, her twin brother Jack, Gene, and her sister’s Dorothy Barho and Billy Hearn.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church in Ballinger, Texas with Lynn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Dwayne Schaefer, Randy Kiser, Fred Lippe, Charlie Winchester, Brad Brevard and Gary Prater.
