Jimmy Edward Rose, Jr., 60, of Ballinger, Texas passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.
He was born on Wednesday, May 24, 1961, to Jimmy Edward and Elizabeth (Plumley) Rose Sr. in Cleburne, Texas. While Jimmy worked as a truck driver, his real passion was for race cars. He had his own mini-stock race car. Jimmy worked with his hands often and carved wood into all kinds of incredible things and also made knives as a hobby. He also loved to fish, especially on the lake. Jimmy was especially proud of his great-grandbaby Rosalina.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Edward Rose, Sr., his brother Kenneth Joe Rose, step-father Don Booth, both sets of his grandparents, and his sister-in-law Terri Rose.
He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Booth of Ballinger, his son Shane Keele of San Angelo, his brothers Ivan Rose of Ballinger, William John Rose and wife Darlene of San Angelo, Timothy Ray Rose and wife Christie of Ballinger, and Kevin Dwayne Rose of Stanton, his sisters Amanda Mae Hardy and husband Al of North Carolina, and Catherine Avalos and husband Pete of Midland. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Susan Rose of Big Spring, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, as well as his two step-daughters, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held for Jimmy on Sunday, February 5, 2022, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. His funeral service will follow on Monday, February 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm at The New Life Refuge Church in Ballinger, Texas with Kenneth Plumley officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilmeth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jimmy’s honor.
