Jo Hutchinson, 85, died December 28, 2024, at her home. Jogi was born on January 20, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas. Her parents were Claude Christopher Gentry and Edna Earle Harwell. Jogi was proud of the fact that her parents were early settlers of Coke and Runnels Counties Texas.
Jogi graduated from Bronte High School in 1957 where she played basketball and volleyball. She then went on to attend Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. After attending Sul Ross, she worked and lived in Bronte, Houston and Midland. During her working career, she worked for Permian Corporation, Ed Phillips and Associates and Endeavor Energy. Jogi retired from Endeavor in 2004. She always spoke fondly of her times at Endeavor Energy and working for Autry Stephens.
After her retirement, she became active in the Midland County Republican Women Organization and the Church on the Journey. She would quietly contribute to causes in our community and had such a generous heart toward needy children.
Jogi was a social person and loved her times with family and friends. In her younger years, she loved to go to rodeos and in later years she was in Las Vegas often having the time of her life.
Jogi is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Edna Gentry, husband Rex L. Hutchinson and her two sisters Norma Gentry and Eulene Seago.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Tangie Hutchinson, granddaughter and husband, Mandy and Cameron Cox and her most precious great grandchildren, Payton & Collin Cox and nephews, James Christopher and Gregory Seago and their families.
