She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bailey Pruitt; her son, McClain Pruitt; her great-grandsons, Cameron Allen and Joshua Allen; and her brother, A. E. Houston, Jr.

Joan loved a lot of people in her life, and a lot of people loved her.  She will be greatly missed but her family is grateful she is free of the dementia that took her away from them way too soon. The family has no words to express their gratitude to her granddaughter, Shana Zertuche, who went above and beyond in every way to care for Grammer.  Also, thank you to the entire staff of The Regency House who loved Grammer like family.  The family also acknowledges the wonderful care given by Laurie of Kindred Hospice.

There will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity of choice.
