John Ellis Lee

On Saturday, the 9 ^th of March 2019, John Ellis Lee, of Tarrant County, TX, passed from this earthly life.  He was born February 16 ^th , 1942 in Bradshaw, TX to Walter Ellis Lee and Evelyn Smith Lee.  John was preceded in death by both parents; Larry Lynn Lee, baby brother; William David Lee, little brother; grandparents Leonard Frank and Letha Bowen Smith, Walter and Mary Ellis Lee.  Oldest Daughter, Robin Lee Osborn and her husband Ronald Osborn.

He was a 1960 graduate of Ballinger High School.  Leaving behind to mourn his loss are his wife, Myrna Oldham Lee of Pantego; his children Annette Lee Escott and Glenn, David Lee and Melissa, and Lori Lee VanDyke and Van; sisters, Margaret Lee Ivy and Tommy, Katherine Lee Briggs; grandchildren, John Osborn and Michelle, Ronnie Osborn and Valerie, Katy and Grace Escott, Cheyenne and Dakota Lee, Josh, Brandon, and Blake VanDyke; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Grimsley Lowe and Matthew, Dakota Osborn and Chelsea and Amber Grimsley.

Some of his happiest years were in the Boy Scouts with his son in Troop 379.

After his retirement from Martin Sprocket and Gear, he moved to Belton and worked as a machinist for 13 more years.  In the late 90’s, he brought a farm in Milam County.  He spent 17 years there peacefully enjoying his cows, goats, and beloved dogs.

He was a wonderful Papa John and Uncle John to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home of Ballinger, followed immediately by a Graveside Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Old Runnels Cemetery.
