Karen Sue Taylor

Karen Sue Taylor, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at her home in Ballinger, Texas.

She was born on February 3, 1972, to John Thomas and Peggy (Sue) Mullins, in Georgetown, Texas. Karen worked as the Chief Deputy Clerk in Paint Rock, Texas but more recently began working for Gandy Ink.  She loved rocks, all kinds, but especially the agate and jasper rocks of west Texas.  She loved them even more if they were heart-shaped.  Karen had many talents such as arts and crafts, polishing agates for jewelry, and photography.  She found the beauty in all things, proving that even small things were important.  She captured stunning sunsets and sunrises, and even an angel once beside the big cross that she adored from just outside her front door.  On October 12, 2019, she married her soul mate, Bobby Taylor and together they created perfect, often simple, memories that will be cherished forever.  Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile illuminated the lives of those around her. As the cherished wife of Bobby, she seamlessly became an integral part of a close-knit family, embracing her role as the only sister-in-law among four sisters.

Karen is preceded in death by her sister Tracy Lee Mullins (1992).

She is survived by her husband Bobby Taylor, and her parents John and Peggy Mullins.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Paint Rock Community Church, in Paint Rock Texas.  Mike Thompson will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Mertzon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office Toys for Tots fund, in Karen’s honor.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Saint Gabriel’s Hospice for the care and comfort they gave to Karen.
